I’m posting this for consistency’s sake. This past week has been a bit much for me, but I wanted to post something. So, here’s some random updates from my week.
First, I’ve been working tons, grabbing up all the overtime I can handle, probably more than I can handle judging by how exhausted I am. I don’t know about you guys, but I’m scared the economy is headed into a downturn. I’m working hard to spend less, reduce my debt, and build my savings back up. Ooof!!
Good news: I did my taxes early and got some money back. I was worried that our taxes wouldn’t be processed in a timely manner, but I am happy to report that I got money already. Yay!! I’m very happy that’s done.
Book news: I haven’t been listening or reading anything this week. I’m in a slump. It is mostly because I’ve been so tired. I did treat myself to a new release this week. I got Charlotte Mcconaghy’s new book. I’ve been waiting months for this.
TV news: I may not have had the brainpower to listen to a book, but I did have enough to catch up on a couple of shows. I watched the first three episodes of season two of Surface and all of season two of Silo. I’m enjoying Surface, but it is too early to have a solid opinion on it. Season two is just a gorgeous as season one. I love Gugu Mbatha-Raw and Oliver Jackson-Cohen, so it really can’t go wrong. Silo, on the other hand, couldn’t repeat the engagement level of season one. Honestly, I found it really boring and even fast forwarded through sections of it. It managed to pick up with the last two episodes. I feel like the acting isn’t balanced. There are good, even great actors, but then there’s quite a bit of overacting going on. Overall Silo was disappointing.
Podcast news: Here’s a great episode of The Focus Group podcast where they talk about how MAGA feels about Ukraine and Russia. It was very interesting.
I have so much I want to read and chat about, but I need to allow for time to recharge a bit. The time change (boo) isn’t helping. I hope everyone stays healthy. We need to prioritize our self-care, but we know that. At least, more daylight will mean more time to be outside.
I love how Paul Krugman ends his posts with a musical coda. I’m gonna steal it.
